Uncensored News intern Paballo Juliet Kabi has been elected as one of two prefects responsible for environmental issues at her school, alongside Makhaola Mahlelebe, who secured the male representative position.
Her victory was announced today, February 17, 2025, during a school assembly after she presented her election manifesto to fellow students on February 10, 2025.
Below is her manifesto:
Greetings, everyone. My name is Paballo Juliet Kabi. A girl with a deep passion for protecting our environment and building a sustainable future for all of us. I’m confident that by working together, we can create a meaningful impact.
As I stand before you today, I humbly ask for your support and your vote to help me turn this vision into a reality. Let’s work together to create the change we need. As y’all know, our planet is facing increasing challenges, from climate change to pollution and protecting our environment will become more and more important if I or should I rather say we take action now.
If elected as your Environment Prefect, I will commit to working with all of you to bring about real change we want in our school. I feel that through collaboration, we can make a positive impact by reducing waste, promoting recycling and raising awareness about environmental issues.
Here’s what I want to focus on:
* Waste Reduction and Recycling: I will push for more recycling bins around the school yard so we can work on making/keeping our school environment more cleaner. This could & will be carried out by organizing regular clean-up events on certain days and times.
* Environmental Awareness: I will ensure that we have events, campaigns, and programs that educate and inspire our school community about the importance of protecting the planet.
With your support, I believe we are capable of producing greener, cleaner, and more eco-friendly school that leads by example. Together, we have the power/strength to make a lasting difference in our environment/school/planet.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my passion, a passion dedicated to protecting all of us—today, tomorrow, and into the future. Your attention and support will help us make a lasting impact.
